What KTM2 expects from you in the first few hours, and which systems you can safely ignore until later.

KTM2 is a Minecraft RPG, not a survival world with an RPG bolted on. The difference shows up on day one.

The world is still generated. Continent layout comes from ReTerraForged, and towns, dungeons and ruins are placed on top of it by their own generation rules. There is no fixed map, so everything below holds for every save.

The three habits that matter

  1. Get a bed and a roof before nightfall. Comfort is a real stat. Sleeping badly, eating the same bread every day and standing in the rain all cost you movement speed, mining speed and hunger efficiency. A shelter near your spawn point stops the natural decay entirely.

  2. Register with the Adventurer’s Guild. Your adventurer rank gates commissions, districts, vendors and several skill tree branches. It starts at 0 and becomes rank 1 only once the guild has actually written you down.

  3. Do not hoard your gear. Equipment carries its own level, its own sockets and its own skills. A weapon you use is worth more than three you are saving — see Equipment skills and Gems & sockets.

What you can ignore for now

Choosing what you are

Two decisions shape the early game, and both are made before you have any information:

Fate Balance — a points budget of blessings and burdens, chosen at the start. Every blessing is paid for by a burden, and a few of them (appetite, temperament, countenance) feed directly into other systems. See Fate Balance.

Race, class and profession — three separate layers rather than one class pick. Each has its own progression graph with its own unlock requirements. See Identity & progression.

Neither is permanent in the sense that you can never change, but neither is casual either. Pick the one that sounds like how you want to play, not the one with the biggest number.

How combat differs

  • Everything has one or more elements, and damage type versus element decides a ±25% swing before armour is applied. See Elements.
  • Spells and equipment skills spend Astral Energy, not mana bars borrowed from other mods.
  • Guarding consumes a shield gauge rather than being free, and several attributes exist purely to break or reinforce that gauge.
  • Crowd control is resisted by Tenacity and pushed through by Debuff Accuracy. Both matter against bosses.

The full numbers live in Attributes & effects.

Where the numbers on this wiki come from

Every value here is read out of the shipped IsekaiExpansion data files, not from memory and not from an older build. Pages carry the date the data was last verified. If a page and the game disagree, the game is right — please report it.
