The world
Urdas
The world in one sentence — Urdas was saved once by a fallen goddess, and a thousand years later people are slowly realising that the peace has been paying its debts with futures that never got to happen.

- Overview
You wake as a Stranger — someone the laws of Urdas have never registered. The early goals are small: find a bed in a border town, find work, and find someone willing to believe you.
As the journey widens you learn that dungeons are not labyrinths that appeared from nowhere; they are histories and futures the world discarded. And that saving anything is not a matter of beating the one evil, but of finding a third road between keeping the peace you have and giving the choice back to whoever comes next.
The four pillars
A world you can settle into. Settlements have work, rent, food, transport, a watch, and people you know whose lives change as the story moves.
Positions before good and evil. Empire, church, demons, elves and scholars are all protecting someone — and all making someone else pay for it.
Magic as infrastructure. Conductors, star towers and magitech ore power miracles, and also mining, medicine, war and class.
Companions with lives that do not vanish when you leave. Everyone travelling with you has duties, old debts and choices. Getting closer changes how they face a problem; it does not solve the problem for them.
What is publicly established
- The Remote Sky Garden, the World Forge and the Star Tower network jointly hold the present world stable.
- Shattered spaces are possible worlds cut away from reality. The “past” and “future” inside a dungeon may never have happened, and can still send back real wounds, real supplies and real evidence.
- The history of the Divine Age war is disputed. Post-war chronicles rewrote a complicated tangle of alliances and betrayals into a story of good and evil that was easier to govern with.
Where to start
New readers: this page, then Lucentrystel, then the cast. To understand how the world works mechanically, continue with magic and shattered spaces.
