Moonshadow Forest
The elven heartland — a forest that relocates itself. It preserves the possibilities the continent would rather forget, and is being crushed by its own memory.
- Elves
- World Tree
- Migrating groves
“This path is closed this year.” “But I came through here last month.” “Last month it hadn’t started growing. Go west, it costs you two hours. …Come back in forty years and it will be open again.”

| Government | The Moonshadow Conclave and the individual grove-holds |
| Chapter | Mid-game region; vertical forest and the World Tree line |
Moonshadow is not a static ancient wood. Elves move homes, roads and gathering grounds on cycles of several decades so that no ley line and no spirit is exhausted by a single use.
The World Tree stands where the forest’s real and possible layers meet. Its roots draw water and mana — and hold the traces of history the World Forge cut away.
Four rings of pacing
- Outer ring — you navigate by sound, wind direction and ecological cues.
- Middle ring — moving roads and grove-hold daily life.
- Inner ring — politics, memory and the vertical canopy.
- Root realm — several histories of the same place, layered over one another.
You cannot simply follow a minimap in a straight line. Waymarks are leaf orientation, the rhythm of wind chimes and spirit responses — but every rule is taught first in a safe area and has an item-based alternative, so “the forest is mysterious” never becomes “you are lost with no prompt”.
